NOTICE was created by Cyrusblack2
Beyond Protocol is gone..
however, one of the guys who used to Work with the game developers (Aurelius and Enoch Dagor) Named Sir Paradox has opened up a server. He is currently hosting it for free, and is working (when he has the spare time) on improving some of the kinks in the game. He has to manually approve any accounts, so it may take some time to get to actually play it, there are also minor issues with actually getting INTO the game, hopefully, these problems are solved soon.
Also, this is a VERY complex game, but if you play Dwarf Fortress, it shouldnt be too hard. you guys like challenges anyway dont you? there arent many people at all playing on this private server yet, so it may be kinda lonely there for a while until we get some people playing (TELL YOUR FRIENDS, its free!). that was one of the major problems with the DSE game, not alot of people stuck around, so it felt so lonely in game, id like it alot if more people could join us in tandem.
i also cannot log into the game yet (new computer, need sir P to assist) but ill start playing as soon as possible and assist you guys starting up!
afterprotocol.com/index.php
Important notes: Sir P currently has to approve accounts (no automatic yet)
YOU MUST modify your updater clients information (which is listed on the web page) if you dont, well, you wont be able to play, and then you'll start spamming about why it wont work...
The goal right now, is to rekindle interest in Beyond Protocol, after there is a certain saturation point (similar to Minecrafts development) there will be mods and a large playerbase to self maintain it. we are asking people to all play on one large server right now, so as to assist with learning the game, getting a feel for it, and collecting up information on what is good, and what is not (for development purposes for the current overseers of the game). this is a Very strong server, with a moderator who knows and used to work on the game code back when it was live. honestly its the best choice of action, unlike minecraft or DF, restarting a Beyond protcol game from scratch, or without any assistance is a huge pain in the behind, multiple small servers, are a terrible idea with the vanilla game (we will need starter set mods and things to make it easier on folks).
This is the community website Beyondprotocol.org . the place is moderated by a former player, the site is slightly buggy with loggins and such, but with people actually using its forums again , im certain Vimes will fix it up.
Lets Bring Beyond Protocol back. make it great.
we have a dream, and BP can make it happen
- this is a mass email sent to all people interested in BP

The problem is that i can't find a bpclient.ini, i know there is a bpclient.exe and i know that on most computers you can change what you open it with. However this computer doesnt allow that, its a temporary computer until monday when i get my new gaming computer. So basically i can't proceed beyond the part of changing the updater:( (Also putting that code in the updaterclient.ini that was easy)

That part is done, my problem is that i can't find the bpclient.ini file. (meaning the same file just with the name bpclient.ini. I have tried to copy the updaterclient.ini and rename it bpclient.ini. I can't connect at all. Well it really doesnt matter right now, it will matter when monday comes, i am getting a brand new gaming computer that should be able to handle everything, perhaps it works at that point:) I am not even sure my current computer can handle that game:/Cyrusblack2 wrote: the updater client that thing right there, change its stats to the one shown on the website
